Alright to the retard that had his rant about cancer. I only hope that you don't develope ANY form of it. You're a sad indivdual, and I've decided not contiune listening to your cast. I'm sure some might not have an issue with this (ie the other tossers that had a few giggles during the rant), but for some with it we don't need to have it classed as.... forget it the fact that I am bothering with this is a waste of time. You do have issues, but those are for others to complain about, just keep to anime and stay off topics that hopefully will never affect you.

Hey, I've finally received news about the AN update. Great job guys.

Is there any reason why preparations are going so slow?

Just a couple thoughts that are only kind of tangently related to what you were talking about.

First, I'm not sure I could see the whole used book thing being a big deal here in the States. I mean we actually had more books published last year than any other year prior and the average American reads one book a year. Sadly, it's kind of a niche market (not as much as anime, but still not exactely on the same scale as movies and music.) And I don't see that changing any time soon.

Second, I'm not sure if Blockbuster is exactely the best example of Used DVDs. Actually in that case, the studios allow a certain amount of DVDs to be sold. Sometimes they don't allow any to be sold. Or they keep them on the shelf for ages before they actually go into the Used section. In that case the studios aren't exactely losing money on the deal.

Granted, you do have places like Suncoast, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they're only allowed a certain amount of a certain title. But that's just speculation on my part.

Whoops, I thought BarleyTea meant the podcast itself, not the video. >_<

And on another note, it's nice to see some new faces popping up. Having extra variety in terms of people is nice to have.

Skwerly: Yeah I did get that wrong. And I did recall knowing that from ten years ago when Hide died. Still these guys were significant to music in Japan.

BarleyTea: As I mentioned in the last two episodes, we tried to tape them, but it didn't come out so we don't have videos available. The thing is, the videos are just bonuses at this point and something you can't count on every episode. Sorry about that. I get the feeling though we could expect another attempt at video taping during Anime North.

Sorry if you're looking for feeds, I still haven't gotten around to them, but Sunday I think I will. I guess I am enjoying the hiatus a little too much.

BarleyTea: There should be a couple of links at the bottom of the news post that will allow you to download the podcast.

On the topic of X-Japan, the lead singer of X-Japan (Toshi) has not passed away, but their lead guitarist (Hide) did. To their credit, Yoshiki, (pianist, also drums, producer and composer) among other things, has done instrumental works with the London Philharmonic Orchestra as well as Beatles producer George Martin. He'll also be doing the soundtrack for the upcoming Rose of Versailles movie.
