Random observation; I think Mike swore on air more in this episode than he has in the last year of the podcast at least. XD

Having seen the clip, it does seem like Adam was more toned down in comparison to the episode tapings, though it was still rather amusing to watch.

Luckily, I have not run across any traces of elitism at my anime club – at least not yet.

Also, the Lupin the 3rd vs. Detective Conan special has already aired, so it seems. I’m eagerly awaiting a fansub release of this special.

That would be interesting to see indeed.

Upon listening to the episode again, while I personally have no problem with the multitude of English voice actors as guests every year, I have to agree with part of Adam’s talk about having Japanese guests. For such a big convention, I find it rather saddening that only one Japanese guest is obtained per year, let alone the number of guests that even come to Canada. I don’t know if it’s due to the con being fan-run, lack of connections, lack of funds, or for whatever legitimate reason. But since Canada/Toronto only tends to get one Japanese guest a year (2-3 if we’re lucky – I’m going to assume that Buzz Aldrin was the reason why there was no Japanese guest last year at Fan Expo), seeing another Japanese guest at Anime North in the future would be pretty nice.

Mike: heh…yeah, there’s that knowing each other for about 10 years now? I think I can still get away with taking photos. As for not showing Adam the photo of me, probably for the best; you don’t want to scare him or anything. XD

Skwerly, kind of helps that I know you too. But speaking personally there always was a general discomfort in asking a complete stranger to pose for a photo. But at my age now, there’s another dimension added to that discomfort.

Oh for reference, I’ve made it a point not to show the photo to Adam…so he still has no clue what you might look like.

A bunch of people are confused about the name change from Artist Alley to Comic Market. Apparently, AN is trying to encourage the sale of original and fan comics. (They will, however, put the renaming under reconsideration)

One quasi-amusing moment in the taping was when Adam was mentioning how he was brought onto the taping to be drunk while talking shit, and Norm was actually in the room, raising his eyebrows at Adam.

The “cumslut” moments were quite humourous, too. At the beginning, I was wondering if she was going to leave at some point. *remembers when various women left the room during the Ep. 50 taping*

I wasn’t able to watch all of it, but I had a nice time at both tapings.

Wow, having never seen any image of Adam before, he sort of looked like what I pictured, just a bit less meaner looking.

All in all, a good show. Glad the show allowed Adam to be Adam and not hold him back in any way.

it was a great show for what I could be there for. it kinda sucks that the room mics failed agine. I will find a way to make them work. but all and all good 2 shows.

It wasn’t nearly as “bad” as ep. 50, but that’s somewhat to be expected I guess. It was actually a really solid and surprisingly coherent and on topic (for there not being a specific topic) episode. Always really nice to hear from Norm as well. Things went really smoothly this year it seems great work as always everyone.

I always assumed NIS America picked up Sakura Wars 5 for a song whereas the other Sakura Wars games would have been more expensive to license. As far as I can tell it was by far the least popular game in the series and can be called the game that killed the franchise.

I myself like Gemini Sunrise as a very silly concept so I look forward to playing the game. Plus if it does well enough they might look into the previous games.

What character did Megan cosplay with the big spatula prop? I’m now curious how that character looks like.

So if I bring the thing that Courtney mentioned to Anime North, it doesn’t count, ‘cuz I’m a girl? :O *sigh* Another reason I wish I was a guy (just kidding).

Oh, and another suggestion for Adam’s Space to Rant: some random day during the podcast during break, if Mike is attentive enough, just hit the record button whenever Adam goes on a rant about something. That’s probably where the best rants come from — when it’s not really scripted and it’s something that just has to be said. Just like his thing about Sakura Taisen. And about swine flu and sickness in general.

It looks like Play-Asia has some of the Sakura Taisen games, but they’re used. If Adam has a PSP, he could try getting Sakura Taisen 1 & 2. I hear the loading times are kinda long for it, though.

Now I’m really curious about Now and Then, Here and There, lol.

I’ll see you guys at Anime North XD

Oh, and thanks for the tip about avoiding “Free hugs” people. The thing about the “Deluxe hugs” is hilarious.
